Aloha Everyone,
As you all know we have a growing number of Agility Enthusiasts on the Big
Island. In the past we have had to go to Honolulu for AKC competitions
but now we are having NADAC Trials here on the Big Island which include
ALL DOGS. As of last week The Big Island Agility Club was incorporated
and we are now doing a membership drive. Please see the attachments. Currently
we are having agility classes at Paws University on the Kona side and Angelic
Ebbers teaches agility on the Hilo side. These classes begin after Basic
Obedience and begin with Beginning Agility through Competition Agility.
We have five excellent instructors. This is a very exciting time for us
and for our best friends.....our dogs!

Agility strengthens the relationship between the handler
and their dog. It can minimize boredom and Increase a dogs
self esteem. A handler with a timid dog may discover that
once they make it through the obstacle and receive praise,
their dogs confidence will increase.
Currently five students from Paws University Agility Classes
have participated in AKC competitions on Oahu and the mainland.
We currently have a Big Island Team and have earned titles
and a great many ribbons.
Fun is an understatement for these
events; we are hooked and so are our dogs!
Space is limited for the Agility classes so if you want
to sign up, let me know ASAP.
