With
over 16 years of training experience, business owner and
trainer, Tammy Goodreau has trained and
modified the behavior of animals including family dogs
and cats, to dolphins, killer whales, sea lions, walruses,
penguins, and exotic birds.
Since 1997, she has been the co-owner and operator of
PAWS University in Kona, Hawaii (a dog and cat boarding
and training facility) where she has provided training
and instruction to over 1,000 dogs and their owners.
In addition to her position at PAWS, Tammy has worked
as a senior trainer with Dolphin Quest on Hawaii, and
a supervisor of animal training to over 45 professional
trainers and over 4 species of animals for Dolphin Discovery
on Oahu. As a marine animal trainer, Tammy frequently
hosted dolphin and sea lion interactions and live shows
thrilling large audiences with her energy, charm, and extensive
knowledge of the animal kingdom.
Throughout her professional career Tammy has been both
teacher and advocate of positive reinforcement training
techniques which uses toys, treats, affection, and verbal
praise to modify an animals behavior, as apposed to aversive
training techniques, which include the use of choke, shock,
or pinch collars. Positive reinforcement focuses on gentle
training techniques, which in turn builds a stronger relationship
and trust between pets and their owners.

training and guidance to over 200 independent animal trainers.
She has personally developed training manuals and programs
used in both dog training and marine mammal training for
